Academic Advising

Summer 2026 Course Schedule and Registration

Registration for summer is still open, and available until the add drop dates found on the Academic Calendar. Many courses begin on May 18th, we recommend you have your summer scheduled by this date.

Meeting with an Advisor

Undergraduate Academic Advising:

Email Professor John Twombly or Professor Sang Baum “Solomon” Kang to schedule an advising appointment.

Master’s Academic Advising:

Walk-in Advising Hours: At the downtown campus, students can meet with an Academic Advisor during the times listed below. When you arrive, please "check in" at the reception desk by Room 401C. Students will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis, and no appointments are taken or required.
- Week of May 3:
  - Tuesday, May 5, from 4-6 pm (Justine, Yesenia, and Yumiko)
Summer Advising will be by appointment only. Email stuartadvising@illinoistech.edu to schedule.

PhD Academic Advising:

Ph.D. in Management Science and Analytics: Schedule an appointment to meet with your academic advisor, MSA Program Director Siva Balasubramanian.
Ph.D. in Finance: Schedule an appointment to meet with your academic advisor, Program Director Ricky Cooper.

Symplicity for CPT and Summer 2026 Timeline

Symplicity is used only for Curricular Practical Training (CPT) requests. If you're planning to apply for CPT this fall, make sure to:

Log in to the Illinois Tech Portal
Search for Symplicity
Upload required documents (offer letter)
Track your application status and approvals
