Graduating this Semester?
If you plan to graduate in Spring 2026 or Summer 2026, you must apply for graduation via your Illinois Tech Portalbefore February 2, 2026.
To apply for graduation, go to your "Student Dashboard" in the portal and click the link that says, "Apply to Graduate." Follow the steps to submit your request to graduate.
All students who are eligible to participate in the 2025-26 Illinois Tech Commencement–this includes Fall 2025, Spring 2026, and Summer 2026 graduates–will eventually need to RSVP (complete a Ceremony Response Form) for Commencement. More information will become available on the Illinois Tech Commencement website.
International students:
Illinois Tech does not provide any form of documentation for Commencement guest visas.
Also, international students may want to check out details about the OPT (Optional Practical Training) process and attend some of the OPT workshop events hosted by the Office of Global Services.

Tuition for Spring Semester
The deadline to pay fall tuition and fees in full is January 27, 2026. If you have questions about your student bill and how to pay, please check out the Student Accounting site.
Stuart scholarships are usually applied to student accounts after the add/drop deadline. If you already know how much scholarship award you will receive, go ahead and subtract that award amount from your current bill and pay the balance.
Waitlists
If you are waitlisted, it is important that you check your @hawk.illinoistech.edu email on a regular basis. The Registrar will email you when a spot becomes available in the class, and you must register for it within 72 hours (or for 24 hours beginning the Monday before the first day of courses). If you miss this window, you will need to join the waitlist again.
Core class: If you are on the waitlist for a core class that must be completed in the Spring 2026 semester, please stay on the waitlist until a seat opens up. If you are not on the waitlist, we will not know that you need the course.
Elective class: If you are on the waitlist for an elective, you should also prepare an alternate plan in the event that you are not able to register for the class. Contact your advisor if you are not sure which elective to choose.
