Announcements

Stuart Investments Kickoff Meeting

The Stuart Investments (SI) organization will hold its new semester kickoff meeting on Tuesday, January 27th, starting at 4:15 pm in room 403 of the downtown campus. SI is a student-run organization that manages over $1.8 million in stocks (live money) encompassing 11 industry sectors. Students who join SI will be exposed to portfolio management and will prepare and present team buy or sell stock presentations to the member audience. During the first meeting, an overview of Stuart Investments will be provided along with some of the activities that are planned for the current semester.

Both undergraduate and graduate students of Illinois Tech are welcome to attend this meeting and join SI. It is strongly encouraged that you attend the live in-person meeting, as the executive student team and Professor Michael Rybak will be there to answer any student questions.

It is an excellent way to meet new people, learn something about different cultures, and practice your speaking skills. No fees, no homework, no grading, no stress—just sharing your opinions, ideas, and cultures. Please register in 312 weekly (by 1 p.m. each Wednesday). The first SPEAK session is next Thursday, January 29, 2026.

Academic Advising

Students Graduating in Spring 2026 or Summer 2026

If you plan to graduate in Spring 2026 or Summer 2026, you must apply for graduation via your Illinois Tech Portal before February 2, 2026. Students who do not apply will not be eligible to receive their degree. Graduation fees apply, and details are available on the website or by contacting the Office of Student Accounting.

To apply for graduation, go to your "Student Dashboard" in the portal and click the link that says, "Apply to Graduate." Follow the steps to submit your request to graduate.

All students who are eligible to participate in the 2025-26 Illinois Tech Commencement–this includes Fall 2025, Spring 2026, and Summer 2026 graduates–will eventually need to RSVP (complete a Ceremony Response Form) for Commencement. More information will become available on the Illinois Tech Commencement website

International students:
  • Illinois Tech does not provide any form of documentation for Commencement guest visas.
  • Also, international students may want to check out details about the OPT (Optional Practical Training) process and attend some of the OPT workshop events hosted by the Office of Global Services.

Student Billing/Office of Student Accounting

The deadline to pay fall tuition and fees in full is January 27, 2026. If you have questions about your student bill and how to pay, please check out the Student Accounting site.

Stuart scholarships are usually applied to student accounts after the add/drop deadline. If you already know how much scholarship award you will receive, go ahead and subtract that award amount from your current bill and pay the balance.
