Meeting with an Advisor

Undergraduate Academic Advising: Master’s Academic Advising:
  • Walk-in Advising Hours: At the downtown campus, students can meet with an Academic Advisor during the times listed below. When you arrive, please "check in" at the reception desk by Room 401C. Students will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis, and no appointments are taken or required.

June 2026 Build Projects are now open for applications!

Looking for opportunities to jumpstart your career this summer? Become a Build Student Consultant with Open Avenues Foundation! 

As a Student Consultant, you’ll:  

  • Join a team of 2–10 students from all over the U.S. to work on an industry-based Build Project.
  • Work alongside a Build Fellow, a talented industry expert, on a real-world innovation project.
  • Explore your field of interest — from Computing & Data Science, Engineering, and Life Sciences to Finance, Marketing, and more! 
  • Gain virtual career experience while creating a real project deliverable you can highlight on your résumé and LinkedIn.

What are Build Projects?
These are 8-week, virtual work simulations led by experienced Build Fellows from some of the most innovative and fastest-growing companies in the U.S. You’ll meet with your group weekly to learn all the concepts needed to prepare a deliverable that showcases your skills. These weekly workshops last 1 hour and are completely virtual. Hear from Wilber, a Queens College student, what it means to be a Build Student Consultant.

How to Apply   

  1. Visit the Education Hub.
  2. Create an account and start exploring all the Build Projects available. 
  3. Review project descriptions, workshop dates & times, and prerequisites of those projects that align with your career goals.
  4. Apply to up to 5 projects (you’ll be selected for just one). 
 
Important: Keep in mind that attending the virtual weekly workshops is mandatory – consider the time & day these are held before applying.

📅 Key Dates:   
  • Applications close on Thursday, May 7th, at 11:59 PM PT. 
  • Decisions go out the week of May 26th
  • Orientation for selected students is on June 3rd
  • June Build Projects begin the week of June 8th
