Seollal (Lunar New Year) Celebration

Join us for KSA’s Chuseok Celebration, the Lunar New Year holiday of Korea which is one of Korea’s most important traditional holidays. This cultural event aims to introduce one of the most important holidays to IIT students from diverse backgrounds. Also, for many Korean students living away from home, Seollal can be a meaningful time to reconnect with Korean culture, food, and community.
During the event, participants will enjoy traditional Korean holiday foods and take part in games commonly played during Korean holidays, such as Yutnori. This gathering will provide a warm and familiar space for students who are spending the holiday season away from Korea.
KSA will also use this opportunity to introduce and encourage participation in upcoming events. Through food, games, and conversation, this celebration aims to strengthen friendships and create a sense of home within the Korean student community.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
I. Celebrate Seollal with fellow Korean students.
II. Enjoy traditional Korean holiday foods.
III. Play Korean traditional games such as Yutnori.
IV. Build community while living away from home.
V. Learn about upcoming KSA events.
